The Trout Lake (Damsel Lake).

The Trout lake at Manor Farm was first opened in 1992, and is now established as one of the top put and take fisheries in the country. The lake covers 5 acres with depths ranging from 6 feet in the shallows on the south bank to 12 feet in the northeast corner.  The well kept bank side provides the ideal environment for fly casting with plenty of snag free room behind swims.  Damsel lake is regularly stocked during the trout season, large rainbows to double figures are also stocked providing the chance of catching something special.  The lake has an abundance of natural fly life, especially damsels and pond olives. Dry fly fishing is usually good during the Spring and Summer, with Daddy Long Legs continuing this trend into the Autumn. Fry imitations such as Cats Whiskers and other lures are good from October to April.  The lake is listed as a Troutmaster water and we are members of the Association Of Stillwater Game fishery Managers.

The Carp Lake.

The Carp Lake at Manor Farm was first established in 1997. The Carp lake is around 5 acres, with an average depth of 6-7 foot.  There are many features to explore including an island, gravel bars, deep holes and some silt areas.  The lake is stocked with a range of Common, Mirror, Leather and ghost Koi Carp, many of which have reached specimen sizes.  The lake holds around six 30lb+ Carp to 34lb and forty 20lb+ Carp with the average size caught being upper doubles.  The Carp continue to grow adding to an already prolific big Carp water.

Night fishing is available on this lake but must be booked in advance to ensure availability.

The Winters Lake.

For the more experienced carper or those up for a challenge, Winters Lake is the place to be.  The lake was stocked with on-site reared Carp including a 32lb common as well as many other 20's and a few in the top teens.  The lake holds around fifty good sized Carp, most of which are well over 20lb with many going over the 30lb mark.  The lake record is a massive 37lb 12 oz common Carp which was set at its last visit to the bank this year.  The lake itself is around 4-5 acres with gin clear water at an average depth of 6ft, three islands are the main features of the lake along with gravel bars, clay humps and deeper holes to explore.  A few more unusual fish have been stocked into Winters including two albino Grass Carp, a rare chance to catch such fish.

24 hour bookings are taken in advance on this lake to ensure availability as only six places are available each day.

Mixed Match Canal.

The most recent development at Manor Farm is the 24 peg match canal which opened 18th June 2005. This canal is heavily stocked with home-grown carp to 5lb, bream, skimmers, roach, perch, Rudd and Tench.  Results on the match canal have given bags of between 40lbs and 100lbs fished on pellet or maggot.  Bags approaching 150lbs have been taken during 5 hour matches, making this a brilliant venue for clubs or groups looking for a prolific catch rate.

The match canal is float only, no feeder, and can only be fished by prior arrangement or organised matches.

The Blunham Lake.

This is a mature 2-acre lake surrounded by a fringe of reeds. The lake has 20 swims including one accessible for wheelchairs. The lake is about 500m from the main car park, and so a trolley is advisable, although those with walking difficulties or the elderly can park their cars in the disabled car park within 20m of the lake.  The average depth of Blunham is 7-8 foot, going down to 12 feet in places.

The lake is stocked with a mixture of coarse fish including: Roach to 2lb 4oz, Rudd to 1lb, Perch to 2lb, Tench to 10lb, Bream to 8lb and Carp now reaching 23lb+ but averaging 4-5lb.  This is a true, well stocked mixed fishery ideal for pleasure anglers.  This lake fishes well as the water begins to warm up, and is a good starter lake for juniors or inexperienced anglers to be introduced and progress in the sport. During the summer evenings the lake produces a lot of small Tench, which have bred on in the lake on their own. Perch are also prolific during the summer months.

The Becks Lake.

Becks lake is a beautiful mature 4.5 acre lake with many features including an island and an assortment of bars, reed beds and deep holes.  Carp are prolific in this venue, with multiple catches common place, mainly double figure fish with some carp now nudging the 30lb mark.  If you are in search of specimen bream then this is the lake to head for with many double figure specimens up to 14lb 2oz present.  Other species include pike to 36lb 8oz, Tench to 8lb 8oz, perch to a huge 5lb along with roach, Rudd and hybrids to good sizes.  As you can see this is a specimen hunters dream lake!  During the colder months  200 rainbow trout are introduced to keep the action coming when the course fish have slowed their feeding.

Becks lake is available for night fishing but must be booked in advance to ensure availability and avoid disappointment

The River Ivel.

Running along the back perimeter of the fishery is the river Ivel.  This is a wonderful meandering stretch of the river with depths from 3-5 foot and a variety of river bed conditions and features.  There are many overhanging trees and creases to fish to, however the banks are relatively steep so care must be taken when fishing this stretch.  Species include chub to 5lb+, barbell to 15lb 5oz along with bream, roach, dace, pike and eels.  Carp are present but are of an unknown quantity.

Bait, ground bait, boilies, hooks, weights, floats, etc as well as equipment to hire and EA rod licences are all available from our Tackle Barn which is open from 7am to 6pm at weekends / Bank Holidays and from 10am to 7.30pm on weekdays. All tickets should be purchased from the Tackle Barn before fishing to avoid the £5.00 bank surcharge.
