35lb 7oz Mirror landed by Matt Evans on the Winters Lake late June 2009
Specimen Carp Fishing-
Winters Lakeis the hardest lake to fish at Manor Farm, however if you put the time in you should get some excellent results. Mark Jarvis landed a 28lb common on a foam pellet plus a 15lb common carp on a spicy boilies using a snowman rig. Spicy boilies are generally working very well at the moment with another 14lb 12oz common being caught on spicy tuna boilies. Matt Evans had a great session on Winters late in June landing 5 fish including a 26lb 7oz linear, a 32lb mirror and a 35lb 7oz mirror on spicy tuna and sweet chilli boilies topped with fake corn.The 30’s are all cruising in the warm weather but are proving to be a little more elusive.
The Carp Lake has been fishing very well recently, on the 22nd of June a 19lb, 17lb and 16lb commons were caught on The Source boilies tipped with fake corn. A 19lb common was also caught on pineapple boilies. On the 24th of June the Over 60’s match was held on the carp lake in 1st was Dennis Holliday with 26lbs 4oz, in 2nd was Derrick Taylor with 25lbs and 3rd was Pete Currell with 19lbs 4oz. After a three-night session Mr Mahoney landed an 11lb, 13lb x2, 15lb and 28lb commons all on Fusion frozen boilies. Mr Waghorne landed 12lb 8oz and a 26lb commons on Fusion boilies. On the 25th of June Ben Greenfield had a 26lb 8oz common on Spicy Tuna Boilie and 28lb 14oz common on Fusion boilies over spod mix. This lake is doing very well at the moment with best baits being spicy boilies and sweetcorn. A 33lb fish was also landed on 30 June on fly fished floating dog biscuit.
Mixed Fishing Lakes-
Becks Lake has been doing very well this week with a number of tench (upto 9lb), bream (upto 10lb), roach and perch being landed. A lot of carp are being caught upto 12lb. Fishing in the margins works very well on this lake. Top baits this week are sweetcorn, maggots, soft hook pellets and spicy boilies.
Blunham Lake Has really come alive this week many roach, perch, tench and bream have been landed this week. On the 25th of June one angler had seven carp out upto 11lb by 11.00a.m on sweetcorn and halibut pellets. Most of these fish are caught in the margins on this lake. Best baits this week are Halibut pellets, sweetcorn, luncheon meat and maggots
Damsel Lake On the 20th of June the open match was held on the Damsel lake results are 1st James heaps with 57lb 2oz on peg 14, 2nd Keith Judd with 27lb 5oz on peg 7 and 3rd Dennis Holliday with 25lb 14oz on peg 2.A lot of Carp and Bream have been landed this week, if your in the right swim you can have over twenty fish out in a day. Margins are good on this lake and also in nice evenings fishing on the top is good. Best baits are sweetcorn, maggots, soft hook pellets and halibut pellets.
The Canal With the introduction of aerators on the canal it really has improved the fishing up there with much more being caught in a session than before. On the 27th of June the open match took place on here, results are 1st James Heaps with 98lb 12oz on peg 1, 2nd Rob Heath with 85lb 2oz on peg 8 and 3rd was Dave Hennegan with 72lb 11oz. As you can see from the weights fishing has definitely improved up there due to the aerators. Top baits are soft hook pellets, sweetcorn and maggots.
